The football Coyotes played their last
game in October of 1941 when they were defeated by a local high
school. The team was disbanded after the outing. The team
existed between 1904-1941 and never won a game.
The Coyotes also fielded a baseball
team which was the pride of the college. It existed from
1895-1956. The team only lost 5 games in 1921 and finished at or
above 500 in 1898, 1899, 1900, 1901 1908, 1909, 1914, 1921,
1925, 1926. The team also did well in 1942 when women were
allowed to play on the team. That year the team finished 9-10-1.
Sports at Calhoun College ended in 1956
when President Strasser decided that sports were bad for the
morale of the college.
